Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2026
1. Acceptance
By creating an account and using LibriTalk ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Content Ownership & Copyright
You may only upload files that you own or have explicit legal permission to convert to audio. This includes:
- Books you have authored yourself
- Books in the public domain
- Books for which you hold a valid license permitting private format conversion
You may not upload copyrighted books you purchased (unless your license explicitly permits format conversion), share generated audiobooks publicly, or use the Service to distribute audiobooks commercially.
3. Prohibited Uses
- Uploading content you do not own or have rights to
- Attempting to circumvent rate limits or quotas
- Using automated tools to scrape or abuse the Service
- Generating content that is illegal, harmful, or defamatory
- Reselling access to the Service
4. Account & Billing
Every account includes one free audiobook (under 100,000 words). After that, audiobooks are billed per file via Razorpay: $0.99 (₹89) for books under 100,000 words, $2.49 (₹229) for 100,000–250,000 words, and $4.99 (₹449) for longer books, measured after non-narrative sections are excluded. You see the word count and the price before you pay. There is no subscription. If a conversion fails, you are not charged for it; we will investigate billing errors on request. Subscribers who joined under our former monthly plans keep those plans until they cancel.
5. File Retention
Uploaded files are deleted immediately after text extraction. Generated audiobooks are available for download for 48 hours after completion, then permanently deleted from our servers. We do not retain copies of your content beyond this window.
6. DMCA / Copyright Takedowns
LibriTalk responds to valid DMCA takedown notices. Repeat infringers will have their accounts terminated. To file a notice, contact us at support@libritalk.com.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, accuracy of voice synthesis, or fitness for any particular purpose. Generated audio quality depends on source document formatting and chosen voice.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, LibriTalk shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated via email. Continued use after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
